With Peace Drops...
My fellow citizens of the world:
Ask not
What America will do for you
But what together we can do for freedom of Man.
--John Ford Kennedy
"It
isn't enough to talk about peace. One must believe in
it.
And it isn't enough to believe in it. One must work at
it."
--Eleanor
Roosevelt
"Our physical identity is a world of limited thoughts,
feelings and roles,
it is quite apart from the being of inner peace and power
that is our spiritual personality."
--B.K.
Janki
"As you awaken, the first thought is your foundation
for the rest of the day.
When
you open your eyes, sit for a moment and appreciate
the gift of a new day,
create a peaceful thought and enjoy some moments of
silence."
"Our
stage in the morning is the result of how we went
to sleep. Try
this exercise before sleeping:
Visualise the whole day, without judgement, and
observe what happened.
Appreciate the things you did well and learn
from what you could've improved upon.
Now imagine a suitcase and put all the events of
the day inside it.
With your thoughts, send the suitcase far away
into the sky - beyond this world.
By doing this you free your mind and will
be able to have a restful sleep."
"If
you do not find peace within yourself, you
will never find it anywhere else."
--Paula
Bendry
The
peace process we all aim for will not necessarily be
a result of the mere signing of a treaty or agreement.
It must become a matter of our everyday lives,
so that peace settles and lasts and becomes supported
by everybody.
We therefore have to give peace all the required care
and preserve it and promote it.
-- King
Hassan II of Morocco
"When something you do goes wrong, learn to talk
to yourself. Find
a space during the day to create a positive conversation
with yourself.
Talk to yourself with love and kindness.
Accept your mistake, accept what happened and learn
from that.
Forgive and forget everything that had happened.
Then for a moment remain in silence.
You will see how many problems get dissolved in this
way and
how you can recover your inner peace."
"Five
enemies of peace inhabit with us--avarice,
ambition, envy, anger, and pride;
if these were to be banished,
we should infallibly enjoy perpetual peace."
--Petrarch
"When
someone gets angry or irritated do this simple exercise:
Look
at the centre of the forehead of the individual and visualise
a little shining star floating there.
Send
peaceful thoughts to that person, such as you are a peaceful
being and you want to be at peace etc.
Then you will see that with those thoughts you remain
calm and will not lose your peace with that individual.
In many cases the attitude of the other person also changes."
"Peace is the work of justice indirectly, in so far
as justice removes the obstacles to peace;
but
it is the work of charity (love) directly, since charity,
according to its very notion, causes peace."
--Thomas Aquinas
"For one day, try to speak less and listen more.
When
you meet people listen to them with attention,
let them express themselves,
do not have the desire to interfere with your personal
story and appreciate them as they are.
See how much energy you will save and how you will feel
at peace when you speak less."
"Peace,
if it ever exists,
will not be based on the fear of war,
but on the love of peace.
It will not be the abstaining from an act,
but the coming of a state of mind.
In this sense the most insignificant writer can serve
peace,
where the most powerful tribunals can do nothing."
--
Julien Benda
"There must be,
not a balance of power,
but a community of power;
not organized rivalries,
but an organized peace."
--Woodrow Wilson
"Peace is not something you wish for;
it's something you make,
something you do,
something you are,
something you give away."
--Robert
Fulghum
