Series: 1, 2, 3 & 4

Since
I began documenting images from my kitchen window in 1998,
the Cafe series has changed my way of looking at the simplicity
of everyday life.
Not
only have the characters in the stage have come and gone
but also the corner of 67th Street and Park Avenue, West
New York, New Jersey, has physically changed. Two years
ago, a clock was installed in the middle of the street
in an island. Since then, each image is documented by
the exact time the frame was shot.
The
original "Cafe" series I have printed are silver
gelatin prints and also hand coated platinum/palladium
prints on watercolor paper. I have (50) fifty images
in
this series.
Once the town
began installing the clock, I was there documenting the
procedure from beginning to end.
Since that time, I continued to print all the images
in
silver gelatin. Two other series emerged. The "Boogie
Night" series which won two awards, one in 2000 at
the Perkins Center for the Arts, Moorestown,
New
Jersey, I was one of ten photographers to win an award which
the show was written up in the New York Times. The second
award was this March at the Old Cultural Church in Demerest,
New Jersey. I was one of three artists to win an award of
excellence.
The second series, "Amigos" "Friends"
are images of neighbors with their dogs. Some of the "Amigos"
are no longer with us. I am glad to have been able to
document
that space of time in their lives. Especially since that
was one of the neighbors only companion in her life. One
of the street cleaners who I began the series
with was relocated to another area.
Last year I began the most recent series, The "Blue
Series" are images printed on the computer, giclee
prints. It
is the "Cafe" series but the energy is different.
I shoot
most of the images at night when everyone and everything
is still and listen only to the sounds in my head either
waiting for someone to pass by or just the
quietness of the mood of the night.
I have (25) images up to now and I am currently
working at finishing this series.

Currently, I am exhibiting my "Cuba" series
images in Manhattan, New York at Fusion Bar/Lounge.
