When
Peace Comes...

by Eza KOCH
Pioneer Academy of Science /
6th Grade
When peace comes,
All arms everywhere,
Will open for the sake of harmony
When peace comes,
Unity will defeat,
Poverty and Hunger.
When peace comes,
The wind will sing songs into children's ears...
In stead of gunshots.
That is when children
Will have a dream
To replace the fear. |
A
Great Love

by Deniz BINGÜL
Ataturk
Elementary School Grade 2
In
the universe there is a solar system,
In the solar system there is a world,
In the world there are continents,
In continents there are countries,
In countries there are cities,
In cities there are towns,
In towns there are houses,
In houses there are people,
In people there are hearts,
In hearts there is a great love!

I was born on August 9, 1996.
I live in Hartsdale, NY. I have a two years old
sister, her name is Derin. I am at the 2nd grade
at Concord Road Elementary School and Ataturk
Elementary School. My favorite things are reading,
writing and poetry. Maybe I will be a writer when
I grow up. I like to watch and play drama. I might
be an actor too. I also like music and swimming.
And I love animals too. I would like to become
a vet too. The things I don't like are fighting
and people hurting each other. I want everybody
to help each other |
Peace
Mine
KARAKUS
Amity
School Grade 4
War is bad, people die
I cry when babies die
Why destroy families
When we all can live happily.
Peace means happiness
Peace means togetherness
Peace means love
Let's stop the dying
Let's stop the crying
Let's come together
To stop all this fighting. |
Poverty

Natasha
AWARI
Pioneer Academy of Science
/ 3rd Grade
Children scream but there's
no sound
Hunger, hunger all around.
It's like a race
Going place to place
For a home
But in the trash is where people roam.
Some people are oh so kind
Because of their heart and their mind,
But others just don't care
They don't even give a crumb to spare

| Equality

Merve TEJAOGLU
Pioneer Academy of Science
/ 8th Grade
So many years have passed,
Thinking this would go by fast,
But it is still an issue,
It has been going on so long,
You'd assume everyone would think it is wrong,
No matter what you say,
People always find a way,
To treat one another unequally,
So till that day we have to remember,
Everyone is equal,
No matter what gender,
We are all equal,
It's time people learn to accept it,
From this we can all benefit

YAGLIDERE
Amity
School Grade 3
Winter
is ending.
Spring is beginning.
The circle of life begins anew.
The spiral continues.
Circles within circles.
Bringing joy and pain.
Life and death.
The spiral never ends.
Making its beauty
SHINE
Eternal.
