Advisory Board;
Board of Directors &
Representatives of the Light Millennium:
(Based
on the June 6, 2006 Board of Directors
& Annual Meeting's MINUTES)
An Advisory Board member:
-Willing to help LM diversify content contributions from both the
USA and abroad.
-Willing to be a bridge for collaborative projects with educational
institutions, NGOs, civil society organizations,
corporations, or government agencies regarding
individual projects, events, dedication
issues, documentary or television projects.
-Must be willing to take part in the content of projects.
-Willing to support or connect LM with potential participants for
an event, or dedication issue, documentary/TV
program, etc., within his/her interest
area or expertise.
-Willing to bring potential participants, diversify ideas, encourage
his/her circle of friends, colleagues,
students to share their essays/research
with the LM as well as to organize/support
for joint institutional events.
- Is not required to attend the board meetings.
- Is not responsible for the content of the Web site(s) or any
other projects the organization may undertake.
Thus:
-LM will continue to present ALL ideas and practices based on the
Publishing Policy and Mission/Vision regardless
of any given advice for its e-publications/events/LMTV
projects.
-Any BoD member, AB member, LM-Representative, or Volunteer Staff
can suggest ideas for dedication issues,
events, or LMTV programs as long as they
are willing to contribute to that idea
and to share its content, production,
and promotion responsibilities.
-For 2006-2007: The AB members can be up to 9, and the BoD and
AB members are WELCOME to propose potential
new members for both the BoD and AB. The
BoD and AB members, including the president
of the organization as well as LM-Volunteer
representatives, are eligible to invite
new BoD or AB or new LM representatives
(nationwide, Turkey, and internationally)
by proposing potential names/ideas to
Bircan Unver or one of the BoD or AB members
or via LM-Yahoogroups. Those proposals
will be included in the following BoD
Meeting Agenda based on the date of proposal.
Basic criteria for BoD and AB members:
-To show interest in LM organization and its e-publications,
-To be part of the content via contributing his/her ideas to the
content of the web publications,
-To attend events as an active participant as speaker or attendee,
or in kind donor, institution/company
representative,
-To be willing to support
and empower the organization's
activities, and sustain the organization
toward its Mission and Vision.
LM Representatives have equal powers with the Advisory Board,
and are expected to participate actively
and to take responsibility for contributing
to content, events, in activating his/her
cycle to be part of the organization,
as well as be willing to promote the organization's
e-publications/programs to his/her circle.
Each LM Representative is considered
to be a director for that region, city,
state or country.
If a representative has been passive more
than one year and not in contact with
the LM, not responded to any call or not
expressed his/her will to continue to
be the representative of the LM, in this
case, LM has a right to remove that name
from the Representatives category on the
STAFF page.
