The Descent of Inanna

The Inanna myth, to me, is particularly empowering for women. The Goddess Inanna, the
main focus in this myth, acts out, symbolically, an inner transformation process akin to women’s
psyche and body. The myth addresses the interaction with and being part of nature, as well as
the social power structure between men and women.

I feel this myth, as reflected in my art, can function as a helpful map toward understanding the relationship between
one’s inner landscape and the everyday world.
