Ive always loved drawing and painting. Painting is something I started in kindergarten. Holland, the country Im from and where I got my MFA in fine art, has a tradition of painters. Over the years Ive had numerous exhibits in Europe, Hong Kong and the USA. Most recently I exhibited at Tucker Robbins Gallery, Chelsea NYC. For the last 7 years my art has been inspired by a Sumerian myth called, "The Descent of Inanna," (7000-2000 BC). I work with what the different phases, described in the myth, provoke in me, translating that energy into abstract shapes. Sometimes just through line and color.
In my future, our earth is more important than profit. The Amazon's Qxygen is paid for by every country, surplus food is donated to poor areas, commercialism is balanced with humanism, women's interest and ways of thinking are as valued as men's. People have the right to exist in ways they see fit, if not harming themselves or others. Human, animal and food clothing is banned. Schools educate in dealing with emotions and thoughts with special attention to anger, fear and fragmentation. These, and many others are structured and implemented by our new leaders, seeing beyond the nearest profit, seeing the whole picture.
