Abstract:
"U.N. VISION and Millennium Development Goals Speak Through
The Arts," a series of poetic readings,
original and anthologized, will
address key themes of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), and visions of Partnership, Human Security, and Peace, in stirring ways different
than prose. Just as broadening Rights, and sustaining Development universally
entail reframing ideas in practical contexts, so is Poetry a realm
of universalizing "global partnership, fostering for positive
connectivity",
and highlighting "human security" in the context of "unfinished
business" as well as ever-evolving "Respectful Interfaces" that
guide our worldviews
and everyday life.

About the Light Millennium:
The Light Millennium (LM) is a not-for-profit organization which
aims to foster a global connection among all people by creating an international
platform for the free expression of ideas and experiences. The concept was introduced and open invitation for participation was made on
the web in August 1999. On July 17, 2001, LM officially became a not-for-profit
organization based in New York. Based upon the vision that dialogue
and cooperation among all peoples can elevate souls and minds for a
greater humanity, LM seeks to engender harmony among the nations of the
world, promote social welfare, and unite individuals in the bonds of friendship,
good fellowship and mutual understanding. LM strongly believes that, for
a better tomorrow, humankind needs to create a global positive
and effective energy as one soul and voice. To achieve its vision, the Light
Millennium provides a forum for the full and free expression and
web publishing of all ideas and matters of public interest, with the
exception of those ideas promoting partisan politics, war, religion, or
discrimination. Previously
unpublished contributions from people
of all ways of life and every corner of the world are welcomed and encouraged.
