The documentary shows Dalyan’s climb to fame. Perhaps it all started a few years ago when an investor decided to build a five star hotel at Iztuzu Beach. Following this environmental protection organizations came to Dalyan in order to save the beach from the hotel and to save Caretta Caretta’s from death. But many things did not work out concerning Dalyan and its environment.

Turker Altan, scientist, states in the documentary that:
"The only thing which happened was that Dalyan became very famous and touristic. The Eco-system is one unit. You have to protect each part of the chain. It is only possible when you have a concrete project for the country and the region."

Another leading participants in the documentary, Patrick Anderson Greenpeace, Forest Campaign Coordinator underlines that:
"What happens often in countries like USA and Germany, an aid program is developed that is supposed to protect nature. This might be in a third world country or in a country such as Turkey. The program is planned in Bonn and Washington without any information about what is really happening there, without any idea of the local people, their systems or their traditions. So often this seems to fail. Top-down projects are not working for natural protection."

About the director:
Ethem Ozguven has been directing documentaries, experimental films and video art since 1990. He has been teaching films in Turkey and several other countries. He has many national and international awards including the Henry Ford Conservation Award; the Silver Bear in Ebensee, Austria and an award at the Ankara International Film Festival.

"This work was approved by the Ministry of Culture-Turkey."
