Banu Grote (Erdemli) was born in 1969 in Bursa,Turkey. In 1991 she graduated from the Department of Fine Arts of Marmara University, and had several exhibitions in Istanbul. In 1994, she moved to the United States, first to Boston and then to New York, where she participated in many group and solo exhibitions. Since 1997 she has been living in Zurich, Switzerland.
