A Surrealistic and Fantasy Painter: Alev
Necile Dinc is an American artist of Turkish heritage whose works have
been described as taking the onlooker to a mystical world of beauty
and fantasy where everything is alive with a sense of fluid motion.
Her imagination and craftsmanship combine to create dynamic compositions
of amazing depth and expression which are at once both intriguing and
disarming. The artist extends an invitation to enter into her dreamscape
where ethereal dancing figures and whimsical horse like creatures celebrate
life in vibrant hues of blue, green, pink, fuchsia and red. Loving and
playful in vision, Necile's paintings capture a pure and sublime essence,
inspiring the viewer with wonder, joy and enthusiasm.
Born in Turkey, Necile studied painting and design at the Institute of Technology in Ankara. After emigrating to the United States, she continued her education at the School of Visual Art, the Art Student's League, the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, and at the Ridgewood School of Art and Design in Ridgewood, New Jersey. A
textile designer by trade, Necile is also recognized for her poetry
which reflects the same captivating spirit as her art. She is a long-time
resident of Clifton, New Jersey. Necile
knew since childhood that she wanted to be an artist. As a youngster,
she donated and sold some of her work in her native land and once won
first prize for her creativity and originality. She was delighted and
encouraged at the warm response to her efforts and has been painting
ever since. The
artist's rich colors derive from Turkish ceramics and fabric, reflecting
the folk themes and fairy tales of her country of origin. Immortal composers
and artists such as Mozart, Picasso, Van Gogh, and Gauguin inspire her
passion. Her works blend fantasy with reality and the past with the
present, in unique depictions of a futuristic paradise. Using a largely
abstract impressionistic style, Necile creates idyllic scenes reminiscent
of ancient Persian gardens, yet aglow with airy, surreal elements. She
works in a wide range of media'-oils, acrylics, watercolors and pastels,
exploring unusual techniques to get a variety of interesting effects.
