Dear
NGO Colleagues,

September
7, 2005
The challenge for peacemaking is actually
an opportunity to manifest more skillful
methods of reconciliation, partnership
and renewal. Peace is not only the absence
of conflict; peace is an energy field
in which the potential of families, clans
and nations are revealed. With the understanding
that this earth is a living sphere shared
by all of human beings, there still arises
the strife of sectarianism and debasement
of human being through economic, physical
and mental slavery. Underlying the threads
that weave the fabric of our lives on
planet earth is a mindfulness conveying
ideals of ethical and humane relationship.
In many instances, that ideal is overrlaid
with the grasping for commodities, resources
and even, the life force of individuals.
The United Nations has the opportunity
to energize those ethical technologies
that support local communities in their
relationships with larger nations.
The
disparity between those who have and those
who have not has become even broader as
human beings and nations are viewed as
corporations, forgetful of the threads
of human relationship. this view has given
rise to genocide of different groups again
and again. Some think there is a heaven
to be found off of earth, and some to
think or recognize the opportunity to
generate seeds of peace on earth. The
most important seed is the acknowledge
of life and every being's entitlement
to mastery of their own life and relationship
with the natural resources that support
life. Marginalization has energized despair
and the reactiveness of war.
Will this conference energize the conversations
of reconcilation and ackknowledge mutual
respect within the human family's diversity
and recall that human beings are not products
to be manipulated for market gain?
Let the voices of all people and the honoring
of their rights be heard. Where there
has been the sound of war, let NGO organizations
come forward with training in reconciliation
and management of community resources.
Where there is separation of people through
races, economic and sectarian views, may
the NGO organizations apply their skillful
tools of reconciliation for the benefit
of all beings.
All life is sacred and we share life together
on planet earth. It is difficult to heal
communities without removing the poisions
of pollution. Let us clear the air and
water so that pristine awareness of all
relations may be actualized. Let us energize
that which is life force enhancing and
with joy, draw forth those activities
that bring the best to nations, communities,
and the earth herself. Envision a world
where every life is valued and resources
distributed in support of all life. Through
reconcilation, the scars of war are healed,
and the view of dominion over others is
transformed into skillful activity of
community building and development of
economic systems, which acknowledge the
intrinsic value of all human beings.
Sincerely
Venerable Dhyani YWAHOO
