CONNECTICUT TURKISH-AMERICAN COMMUNITY AND
TOWNSHIPS PROCLAIM TURKISH REPUBLIC DAY
Turkish–Americans in Connecticut are the only community in USA
to raise the Turkish Flag over the State Capitol consecutively 23 years.

We will honor the secular and democratic Republic of Turkey, which our grandparents, fathers and mothers sacrificed their lives
for.
I cordially invite you to the Flag Raising and Proclamation Ceremony for the 93rd Anniversary of the Turkish Republic Day, "Cumhuriyet Bayrami" at the Wolcott Town Hall on Friday, October 28, 2016 at 9:00 am.
Mayor Tom Dunn honors my request again for raising the Turkish flag over the Wolcott Town Hall and for issuing a proclamation for recognizing October 29 as the Turkish Republic Day.
SNETACA (Southern New England Turkish American Cultural Association) has been raising the Turkish Flag and celebrating the
Turkish Republic Day at the State Capitol in Hartford since 1994.
Governors, State senators and representatives .have issued the proclamations honoring the October 29th as the Turkish Republic
Day. We the Turkish–Americans in Connecticut are the only community in USA to raise the Turkish Flag over the State Capitol consecutively 23 years. To that extend, our Association, SNETACA organized event information to celebrate the Turkish Republic Day and raising the Turkish flag over the Capitol of Hartford is also on Friday, October 28, 2016.
Due to my community work in American and Turkish communities.and my voluntary service in education to Wolcott for 21 years,
I was honored as a Turkish Mayor of Wolcott in 2004 by the Mayor Tom Dunn and raised the Turkish flag. Since then every
year I organize events for raising the Turkish flag and celebrating the Turkish Republic Day at the Wolcott Town Hall.
Please make every effort to join us on both events.
