Awaking Nature and Love for Eternity

We can see all aspects of human behavior in nature. But in most cases we do not appreciate it, or we are too lost in our daily problems or in consumer culture to even notice. I believe nature offers us a response to all of our questions and concerns regardless of where, and under what economic and social conditions, we live.
For years I have thought about capturing nature within this general concept for a photo-essay project. Whenever I went to a park or forest, I would take photographs with this in mind, but I was never able to put them together.
At this time, as nature presents itself in pure beauty during its awakening, dressing the branches of the trees with buds and leaves, I took some arbitrary photos on two different days during the last two weeks of April 2011. The locations were Forest Park, Queens, the largest natural park in New York, and Wild Refuge Life, near Rockaway Beach in Queens.
For my fifty-second birthday, I would like to share fifty-two photographs with all of you in order to share my joy and hope in nature. The title of each picture reflects my interpretation of the scene, as well as contributes to the title “Awaking Nature and Love for Eternity.”
These photos are not to be manipulated or touched, with the exception of resizing them for web publishing purposes.
Thank you very much for joining me in my joy, love, and hope in nature.
With peace, Bircan Ünver, May 2, 2011, Queens, New York
