INTRODUCTION:
Do you know that approximately 780 million people do not have access to a source of drinking water and 2.5 billion do not have access to sanitation?
400 million youth of the next generation is estimated to be unemployed according to ILO. Will the green clean economy be the solution?
Our declining natural resources is a potential cause for international conflict. Will the green-clean economy be the solution?
Global warming is estimated to severely damage natural life around the world. This will decrease our quality of life. Will the green clean economy be the solution?
Environmentally irresponsible economical practices are showing their effects all around the world through global warming, pollution, and destruction of natural resources. The urgency of such problems demands immediate action. However, things are not easy. Due to seemingly high costs, firms and governments shirk away from implementing
preventative measures against global warming. Therefore, the key question is: Can GreenClean Economy be a solution?
This program explores this concept from multiple angles through representatives from the UN International Labor Organization, universities, international NGOs, street interviews with concerned citizens, and student-level presentations both in person and via a survey, which was undertaken by Andrea S. Viejo of The Light Millennium
organization.
