We are enthused to invite you to our third program on the MILLENNIUM DEVELOPMENT GOALS, which will be two half hour studio tapings for the LMTV programs (each is 28 min. in English and Turkish) entitled, "2015 Beyond in Science & Arts - III", which will reflect ideas in the sciences & arts by means of poetic, constructive, and visionary approaches within the context of the Millennium Development Goals.

Goal 1: ERADICATE EXTREME POVERTY AND HUNGER
Goal 2: ACHIEVE UNIVERSAL PRIMARY EDUCATION
Goal 3: PROMOTE GENDER EQUALITY AND EMPOWER WOMEN

Goal 6: COMBAT HIV/AIDS, MALARIA AND OTHER DISEASES

Expected TIME (for the presenters): 7:00 to 10:00PM
For the Crew and Musicians: 5:30PM – 10:00

LANGUAGE: First program language will be in English and the second one will be Turkish.
• We hope to have 5-7 presenters in each program (including musicians.)
• The duration of each poem will be limited to a max. 3 min. However, for musical performances (i.e. dance, videos, or music clips, etc.,) the max. time will be 4 – 5 min.

If you like to take part in this through one of the following categories: a) Presenter; b) Contributor musician; or
c) Audience of the program, please indicate it in your subject line. Due to the limited space, an RSVP is required ASAP (LMTV@lightmillennium.org). Studio address and directions will be provided based on your RSVP.

The first people to come will be the first scheduled – we can only accommodate a maximum of 14 -15 presenters for the two programs, (including musicians.)
Following by your confirmation, deadline for sending in your poem’s, piece’s title and exact duration etc.. up to 2 short poems / or max. 1 page of abstracted ideas in science or arts or both, which will be serving one of the eight Goals of the MDGs that you are willing to cite/present it during the studio taping. Please indicate under which goal your piece should be listed.

INVITATION TO MUSICIAN & SINGERS: The Acknowledged Turkish musician, Nedim Katgi, has confirmed his participation in this studio taping, and will be playing piano. Therefore, we are seeking more musical contributions (other than piano) to this program. If you are interested in taking part of this studio taping, please e-mail:

DETAILS OF THE PROJECT:
1) Length of the poems: The poems should not exceed 1 or 1.5 pages in 12 fonts.
2) Languages other than English and Turkish are welcome if the presenter is willing to provide the piece’s English or Turkish translation.
3) Each presenter will cite one or two short poems, or a max 1 full-page of summary/or abstract of ideas in the sciences and arts that will promote one of the eight Millennium Development Goals.
4) Each presentation will be limited to max. 3 minutes.
5) Musicians and performances are limited to max. 3 - 5 minutes, however, musicians may have more than one performance block depending on the total number of participants in the program.
6) All presenters, poets, and musicians, as well as the organizers/supporters of this project, will be voluntarily contributing to the program. Thus, there is no compensation and transportation will be at your expense.
7) If you are out of NY, and interested in taking part in the program, you are WELCOME to be part of the program via sending your poems and selected ideas in arts and science by e-mail. Selections from those will be considered for presentations in the program by one of the pre-selected presenters.

AIM OF THE PROGRAM:
Five years have passed since we organized the very first “2015 & Beyond in Science & Arts” in 2006, and 4 years are left for the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals by 2015. Achieving the eight MDGs has been one of the greatest challenges for humanity since 2000. Therefore, the program aims to further raise awareness of the MDGs through LMTV Series at Queens Public TV in Queens, inspire, motivate, encourage, and moreover, force our imaginations and collective consciousness to activate the MDGs, and reform our collective energy for achieving the MDGs as well as envisioning it BEYOND 2015 ! So far, we haven’t made any major progress towards 2015. Therefore, the next 4 years represents a very short time to achieve such NOBLE goals. For this reason, we urgently need to activate all our common potentials, visions, and energies towards prompting this process as well as visualizing the world BEYOND 2015 on all social and economic levels of our daily lives, both locally and globally. Further, we should think of 2020, 2030, and 2050 - years that will be our real inheritance to our children and grandchildren! SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES: LMTV has a potential to reach 400,000 households and 1.5 million viewers in Queens through QPTV. Potential sponsorships and contributions to these two LMTV programs will cover the production costs, and enable us to secure 8 - 10 crew members and to provide a light reception for the participants and guests of the program. Your sponsorships will be reflected at the end of the each program, and your monetary donations to the organization will be tax deductable.

The very first was implemented incorporation with Prof. Sultan Catto at the GC-CUNY on November 1, 2006; the second one was at the Baruch College on May 7, 2010.
