Referring to the organization's February
4, 2006 Minutes: For the RUMI &
CLARKE Inspirational Writing Awards Project, the legendary author
and scientist Sir Arthur C. CLARKE has given permission to Bircan Ünver
for his name to be used as a supporter.
Launching and promoting of the project
will be done in conjunction with the
Fall-06 issue.
As the Light Millennium,
we are very honored and excited by the
potential of this upcoming project,
and will try our best to present both
universal names in a manner which will
create a bridge from the 13th Century
Middle Eastern philosopher, Mevlana
Celaleddin Rumi, to a western visionary and pioneer, Sir Arthur C. CLARKE, who has marked the
entire 20th as well as the 21st Century
with His visions.
This project aims to
encourage, in particular, kids and youth
to create positive ideas joining East
& West.
Specifically, from early ages
to the college/university levels, the
project endeavors to establish a bridge
between EAST & WEST which will promote
mutual cultural exchange, understanding,
and enhancement between young generations
through both RUMI's & CLARKE's visions
in literature, science, poetry, arts,
science and the future.
Additionally, the project invites people
from all ways of life to participate
in the context of the Two Universal
Men's Visions...
For the first year,
we aim to collaborate with at least
one elementary, one secondary and one
high school, as well as one college
or university in collecting writing
submissions. Also, the project will
be open globally to ALL, via open On-Line
submissions from elementary to university-level
students.
All the submissions
will be posted to the Light Millennium's
web site. Depending on available sponsorship,
we also plan to dedicate an independent
web site for the RUMI & CLARKE
INSPIRATIONAL WRITING AWARDS...
